Hurricanes

Through my hurricane paintings I was exploring the concept of stillness in the midst of chaos. The use of simple strokes and ink in the first stadia of making the drawings, it conveys a sense of flow and movement, while the central stillness represents a sense of calm or meditation.
The focus in the sketches were on the precise time and date of the drawings, it suggests a deep interest in the passage of time and impermanence and the ever-changing moment. The spiral form in the drawings also adds to this theme, as spirals are often associated with cycles of birth, growth, and decay. After making many drawing I created four big paintings with the title:
"Portrait of Mind" .
